Mike Robinson

Meet Mike Robinson from Salem, New Hampshire.

The year was 1971 and I was a junior at Newburyport High School in my hometown of Newburyport MA when I first heard "Horse With No Name". I've been an America fan ever since!

America's music is the main reason I decided to learn how to play the guitar! I love picking up the old Yamaha and the America Complete songbook and playing along with the albums. Speaking of albums, I have them all either on CD or LP and I would have to say America, Alibi and Hourglass are my favorites. I've seen the guys in concert a few times, the last one being a free concert at City Hall plaza in Boston. In addition to America, you can also find the music of the Beatles, Poco and Yes in my CD player (or turntable!).

Unfortunately I'm not independently wealthy so I spend at least 40 hours a week as a software developer for Lucent Technologies (formerly part of AT&T) writing code for transmission products.

Recently I moved from Massachusetts to Salem, New Hampshire and am getting married in July. My fiancee', Denise, and I love the water (we live on a lake) and are getting married at a church that overlooks the Atlantic ocean. I played "All My Life" for her the day after we got engaged - it brought a tear to her eye and mine!

I'm always surprised at how many fans have met Dewey and Gerry. I hope to someday so I can tell them how much their music means to me. Maybe I'll have a chance at this year's Boston show!

Feel free to send your comments or questions to Mike.
