Fede Belfiore

Fede with Dewey and Gerry after the March 16, 2004 concert in Genova, Italy. Gerry is holding a Distillery CD that was given to him by Fede.

Meet Fede Belfiore from Imperia, Imperia, Italy.

My real name is Fede Belfiore but everyone used to call me "el lobo" since I was a kid. I live in Imperia 130 kms SW from Genoa, 40 kms from the French border. My hometown is sister city with Newport, Rhode Island. I started listening America since I was really a kid! I have three female cousins some years older than me and they were really fond of America's music. When I was 9 they presented me a guitar and I think the first thing I imagined to play on it was "A horse with no name" and Paolo a friend of mine lend me his sheet music of "History America's Greatest Hits". When I was 11 I bought my first tape cassette myself: Silent Letter and I immediately fell in love with "Tall treasures" and "All around". When I was in school I really checked out the time to go back home and train myself on the 2 songs... After days of trials I was able to play both quite well. Now I'm 35 and I'm a professional guitarist since I was 19, have a band myself, have learned to play plenty of songs of lots of different authors and, of course, wrote down songs of mine. But I think that America's songs convinced me so far that I decided to become what I am now. Anyway, I'm not rich nor famous, just quite popular in northern Italy and somewhere abroad. But I'm happy and that's the only thing I wanted to be...
