Chip Crouse

Meet Chip Crouse from Las Vegas, Nevada.

I hardly know where to start. I am 40 years old, close to the same age as Dewey & Gerry. I became an instant fan the first time I heard "A Horse With No Name" and have never looked back since. I own every stitch of America I have been able to get my hands on through the years; albums, cassettes and now, of course, CD's. I have seen them in concert at least 10 times and have absolutey loved it every time. I actually got to fulfull a lifelong dream and met them at what was at that time Sahara Tahoe when they were in concert there. Both of them were extremely nice which made me respect them even more. They didn't try to blow me off as just some kind of pest. I really appreciated that. It would be difficult for me to pick my very favorite America song. I love every one of them but if I had to narrow it down to just one, it would have to be "Ventura Highway". I live in Knoxville, Tennessee now but I grew up in Reno, Nevada and it always makes me think of the west coast. I am very excited about the new Human Nature CD. I can't wait until June 30th to hear it. I am going to try to go see them in Lexington, Kentucky later this year if it's not sold out.

I will always be a huge fan. If you took away every CD I own except my America CD's I would still be perfectly happy. Thanks for all the great songs and memories. They have been great friends to me over the years.

Update received August 10, 2000

I just wanted to contribute to this website & say what a lifelong America I have been. Like millions of fans everywhere, I became instantly hooked on America when I was a kid the first time I heard "A Horse With No Name", I played the song over & over again & just couldn't believe that 3 young guys themselves could be such incredible musicians & such accomplished vocalists. I fell in love with the beautiful harmonies & acoustic guitar work. I have seen America in concert at least 10 times & everytime they put on an even better show since they usually always have new music to perform. I saw them eariler this year here in Las Vegas & am really looking forward to them returning in December. I own every CD & have collected every album through the years. I could go on about how great their music is but anyone who is truely an America fan already knows that. I just wanted to say what a fan I am & always will be. Everytime I go to the music store I always go to the America section to see if any new CD's have come out. I am thrilled to see the new CD "HIghway" & will look forward to purchasing it as soon as I can find it. We can only hope for a DVD to be released in Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS so we can experience America in our home theaters. Keep up the great work Gerry & Dewey. "We love ya man" !!!

Feel free to send your comments or questions to Chip.
