Meet Joanne Meyers from Saint James, Long Island, New York.

Hi my name is Joanne Meyers. I live in St. James, Long Island, New York. I have been an America fan since my first America album "History." at that time I started to collect albums and photos, and my journey with America began.

I saw America the first time in 1976 with Eric Carmen. I remember using my dad's binoculars and seeing America through them, I couldn't believe it. That was the first and last time I saw Dan Peek with America before his solo career. I kept in contact with Dan Peek for several years but lost touch. I hope very much he is happy and well. In the meantime I married my high school sweetheart (he knew he was marrying America's music too). We now have a busy life with three kids, Nick (15), Michael (12), and JoAnna (7) "future America fan."

America's music has been with me almost my whole life. Every song, of every album, my love of music has come from America. I had the great honor of meeting Dewey and Gerry November 3, 1995 at the Staller Center in Stony Brook, Long Island. I brought photos with me that I had since I was a teenager, hoping maybe to get them autographed. Dewey and Gerry were very patient and took time with all the fans. I was too nervous to ask all the questions I had. Dewey hadn't seen these photos, he asked me for copies, and I was very happy to send them to him. WHAT A GREAT NIGHT.

I was so thrilled about the release of HUMAN NATURE. America's music is still so strong. My fondest hope would be that America would write a book about their career, and the life behind each song. Thanks Steve for the great website, and for the "gift of gab"
