Harry S. Anchan
|
Meet Harry S. Anchan from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The first time I heard America was in the early 70's. The song was "A Horse With No Name". Ever since then, I've been hooked. But what really made me a HUGE fan was the 1975 tour de force, "Sister Golden Hair". The genius of George Martin was unmistakable! I have a huge poster of America on my wall with George staring down at me! Then, it was "Ventura Highway" which conjures up visions of cruising down a California highway with the top down and the music up! A song that really touched me was "1960". Powerful lyrics! It makes me sad that the old cars went by the wayside. Anyway, I live in Canada and used to be in radio and the recorded music business for many years. My passion is music. I have a fair number of albums (got all of them free being in the record business), and one by the member who is not forgotten: Dan Peek. You're going to find quite a few America songs on my Favorite Songs list! My favorite America songs are: #1. Sister Golden Hair (the remaining are in no particular order) My wife (who is not into music the way I am) and I have three children, the oldest being 12. They enjoy the same music from the 50's to the 80's that I love (check out my favorite songs and groups - in the hundreds, at the link given above) along with today's fluff . Of course, my walls are covered with posters, albums, CDs, cassettes and open reels on bookshelves, stacked up all the way up to the ceiling, and enough audio/video gear in here that I have to move everything out into a bigger room soon:-) You can check out the 23,000 songs, most of them pop, at my site. My life has been intertwined with music since I was a child (as my father is a singer/composer/musician with albums of his own in Asia) and America plays a big part. I am a Desktop/Network Specialist in the I.S. department of a very famous worldwide computer giant. My hobbies are too many to list here. Feel free to send your comments or questions to Harry. |
