Meet Alan Wind from Atlanta, Georgia.

Like most fans of 70's music, I played and replayed History- America's Greatest Hits over the years. Then I saw America perform live during the olympics in Atlanta in 1996. It was a terrific concert. My wife and I danced to Daisy Jane right in front of the band.

This led me to buy America Encore; More Greatest Hits. I discovered songs that I never heard before that were just as good as those on History. After Encore, I went backwards in time collecting almost all of America's music in albums, cd's ,and cassettes. America has produced a superb body of work over the years.

As a social studies teacher, athlete, coach, and actor I appreciate America's songs for a myriad of reasons. I enjoy the sophisticated "head and heart" music and lyrics of Gerry. Dewey' songs capture my love of travel and the outdoors. The lyrics of Hourglass and Human Nature have inspired this veteran social studies teacher to travel with my students across the U.S. In the past two years I have led school sponsored trips to Washington,D.C. and Valley Forge, Penn.

Recently I saw America play at the Palace in Myrtle Beach, S.C. My 12 year old son and I loved the old hits and really enjoyed Gerry and Dewey singing my favorite new song Wheels Are Turning.

The spirit of America helps me sail close to the wind. I'll keep on trying.

Keep up the good work Gerry, Dewey, and the band!
